Holding a stillborn baby: does the existing evidence help us provide guidance?

چکیده

Sands’ position, in light of all the available academic literature and anecdotal evidence, is that families should be presented with the option to see and hold their baby, and that this option should be communicated to parents in an open, supportive, and non-judgmental way. Furthermore, bereaved parents should be supported by caregivers in their choice to spend time with their baby should they choose to do so.
